Communication - Listening
How well do you listen when someone speaks to you?
Listening is a commitment and a compliment. It is a commitment to understanding how people feel, how they see their world. It means putting aside your own prejudices, beliefs and your self interest so that you can step behind the other person’s eyes.
You try to look at things from his/her perspective. It is a complement because you say to the other person, “I care about what’s happening to you, your life and experience is important”. It is dangerous not to listen! You miss important information and you are blinded when problems arise.
When you try to understand why people do things, you have to mind-read and guess to fill in the gaps in your listening skills. If you want to understand someone, you must listen to them. When you’re enjoying a conversation or you intend to learn something, listening comes quite naturally.
This workshop will cover a series of exercises to improve your listening skills.

Discover the Power Within You
Power, Love and a Sound Mind
We were all given Spiritual gifts and were empowered to use them; some of us are not using our God given gifts, perhaps as a result of fear. But there are consequences for not utilizing that gift; it could die off into embers. We need to keep the fire burning in our heart, and burning strong, not allowing our gifts to go dormant. Believe it; God’s Spirit does not impart fear or cowardice but power love and a sound mind or self control. The spirit imparts power to do well; the love the spirit gives to us should be directed to other individuals. And as we use our gifts to build up God’s people we should exercise self control, using our abilities only at the appropriate time.
Power is the ability or strength to perform an activity or deed. It is sometimes used with the word Authority. If power suggests physical strength, Authority suggests a moral right or privilege. One can have power to perform the task, but not authority to do it.
Love is God and God is love. Love is the attraction, desire or affection felt for a person who arouses delight or admiration or elicits tenderness, sympathetic interest or benevolence: or devoted affection of a mother for her child.
Sound Mind – sound because we are made to think logical, strong, and effective. Our mind is a part of a persons that thinks and reasons. Sound can mean powerful, binding, logical and strong.
In biblical language the mind is sometimes refers to as the heart. The mind and the heart are connected. The mind can mean understanding, thought, mind, reason, soul, spirit.
The mind could be good or evil. On the negative side, the mind can be hardened, blinded, corrupt, biased. On the positive side the mind can be renewed and pure. This workshop will give you an insight of your power, how you are to utilizing your God given gifts to make a difference in this wonderful world we live in.

Parenting Skills
Have you often wondered why some parents produce good self respecting, responsible children?
Do you have control over your children or is your child out of control?
Parents are those who give birth to children and provide nurture and guidance during their childhood years. Children are suppose to obey, honor their parent.”Ex: 20:12.
Failure to do this could result in punishment or death. Deut 21:18-21.
Parents were also taught to train their child the way they should grow.
The style of parenting to a great extent determines the effectiveness of the home and the family unit. The characteristics of the parent, to a great extent the child will mimic.
The physical conditions of the parents, their dispositions and appetites, their mental and moral tendencies, are reproduced in their children. The nobler the aims, the higher the mental and the spiritual endowments, and the better developed the physical powers of the parents, the better will be the life equipment they give their children. Fathers and mothers need to understand their responsibilities. They cannot discern the hidden dangers or the fearfully ending path that seems to them the way of happiness.
This workshop leaves you better informed on parenting and the role you play in bringing up your child. It will also give a better sense of what you can do to improve your parenting skills.

Principles of Effective Leadership
Do you truly measured up as an effective leader? Let’s examine…
Is your employee’s life richer?
Do you stimulate their thinking?
Do you inspire them to be bigger and better men?
and women to get the work finished quicker?
“A tree is measured best when it’s down”, Abraham Lincoln.
There is a popular saying that ‘if you keep on doing what you’ve always done you will keep on getting what you’ve always gotten’.
A true leader always affects their subordinates or their associates by inspiring and challenging them. The spirit manifested by a leader will be to a great extent, reflected by the people. The spirit of the true leader is contagious; soon everyone around him shares his burden and his enthusiasm.
The group is willing to follow him to make his dreams their own, to push aside the barriers that block their passages to the stars. People are more important than methods, more essential than plan and policies. The success of any organization or projects is more dependent upon human factor than upon the budget factor or any other factor.
With the right kind of leader a conference, field, organization or institution will grow and develop despite the obstacles and problems. A leader is a person who by force of example, talents or quality of leadership plays a directing role wilds commanding influence or has a following in the sphere in activity or thought...is one with the ingredient of a personality that causes men to follow. It is one who has the quality of a leader, the position of a leader or the capacity to lead.
This workshop will teach you over 50 lessons a leader should know.

Principles of Health
Do you understand clearly the principles of health?
Do you believe in dietetic reform?
Not all of us who profess to believe in dietetic reform truly understand the principles of health. We disregard certain wholesome foods loading our bodies with harmful dainties. You are far from being an example of temperance and moderation.
In this course, we go to the opposite extreme. Some of us are unable to obtain the most desirable foods, and instead of using such things as would best supply the nourishment needed, we adopt an impoverished diet. Our food does not supply the elements vital to make good blood. Our health suffers, our usefulness is impaired, and our example tells against, rather than in favor of, reform in diet.
Some of us think that since health requires a simple diet, there need be little care in the selection or the preparation of food. Some restrict themselves to a meager diet, not having a sufficient variety to supply the needs of the system, and suffering as a consequence.
This workshop will guide you to a clear understanding of the laws of health, also helping you to govern by principles.
